Special Olympics Indiana is a not-for-profit organization that provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in more than 20 Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, reaching more than 11,000 athletes across Indiana. Special Olympics Indiana is part of the international network of accredited Special Olympics Programs that reaches nearly 4 million athletes with intellectual disabilities worldwide.
Sport is a universal language that unites people on and off the field of play. Its lessons are relevant to all. Using sports training and athletic competition to help break down barriers that have historically kept people apart, Special Olympics Indiana promotes meaningful inclusion and acceptance for children and adults with intellectual disabilities in Indiana. These experiences ultimately create an inclusive environment where everyone benefits and little by little, the world changes. The sport is the medium, but the real power lies within the Special Olympics experience and all the people it touches.
Let me win, but if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt.
