RETIRED POLICE OFFICERS ASSOCIATION

Greetings and congratulations from the Retired Police Officers Association (RPOA) on your retirement.

• The Retired Police Officers Association (RPOA) is open to retired police officers and their spouses.  The Association is fraternal in nature and allows retirees to meet and interact on a monthly basis.
• The RPOA conducts Monthly business meetings and provides a free luncheon on the second Thursday of each month at FOP86.  Doors open at 1100 and the business meeting begins at 1200 noon, followed by lunch at no cost.  Feel free to bring a dessert.

The RPOA has its office and business meetings/luncheons at FOP Lodge 86 but is a separate organization.

• Other activities include monitoring legislative actions that may impact retiree pensions and benefits. We assist the FOP and the Central Indiana Police Foundation with community involvement activities and other requests when applicable.
• RPOA membership is free in the first year of your retirement.  After that, the dues are $30.00 per year (January – December) applications are mailed out in November.
• Dues include:  Retiree address book, membership cards for officer and spouse, LEOSA qualification* and credentials, luncheons each month and voting membership.

The RPOA coordinates with the IMPD Range to issue each Retired Officer with a Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA) card.  This allows for the carrying of a firearm in all 50 states and US territories.  Currently qualifications are offered 4 times per year at the IMPD Eagle Creek Range.  The LEOSA credentials must be carried with your Department issued retirement identification card and are good for 1 year from date of issue.  You only need to qualify once per year.
