From the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #86

Greetings,
I am pleased to announce a Tentative Agreement has been reached between the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #86 and the City of Indianapolis. A detailed information sheet inclusive of the key points of this proposal will be mailed to every Active and Retired police officer of the IMPD. In addition, we have scheduled the information sessions and voting for Thursday 10/27/16 (0600-1800) and Friday 10/28/16 (0600-1800).
Key Points:

The term of the Agreement is four (4) years, effective January 1, 2017 through December 31, 2020

Proposed Base Salary increases
2017 3%
2018 2%
2019 2%
2020 2%

Longevity Increases of 0.5% years 4-20 and $100 additional per year after
-
Increase Clothing Allowance $100 annually for a total of $1,000 a year
-
Increase Shift Differential Pay by $0.15/hr (Increase from $.70 to $.85/hr)

Maintain the current 6-3 Work Schedule with a provision to explore mutually agreeable alternative work schedules, any of which would be subject to a vote of the active officers

Maintains protection of current active/retiree health insurance structures, maintains current overtime provisions, strengthens due process rights for officers, enhances the Donated Time Bank, establishes a health insurance study committee and establishes a safety equipment advisory committee

Requires overall minimum staffing funding levels for IMPD no later than 2019

Ensures parity with firefighters

Maintains all other provisions within the current contract

The FOP Executive Board has been briefed on this Tentative Agreement and they have voted UNANIMOUSLY to recommend ratification of this labor agreement by the body of the lodge. In the interim, please plan to VOTE on either:
Thursday 10/27/16 (0600-1800) [Information Sessions 11 AM and 4 PM]
Friday 10/28/16 (0600-1800) [Information Sessions 9 AM and 3 PM]
